Waltham, MA—AMC Bridge hosted a semi-annual reception with experts to discuss how AI orchestration, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and domain-specific engineering expertise are reshaping enterprise engineering and PLM ecosystems.

The event brought together company executives, technical managers, business development representatives, and engineering experts to discuss major industry shifts driven by AI adoption, changing expectations for engineering service providers, and the growing role of consulting and specialized engineering expertise in enterprise transformation initiatives.

A significant part of the discussion focused on how the engineering and PLM services market is evolving beyond traditional software development toward more integrated engineering, consulting, and AI-enabled delivery models.

A major focus of the event was the growing industry interest around Model Context Protocol and its role in enabling AI systems to interact with enterprise and engineering applications through standardized integrations and orchestration layers.

The discussion covered practical implementation challenges related to MCP orchestration, enterprise integrations, workflow-specific AI interactions, and the current limitations of large language models when working with complex engineering environments and enterprise systems.

Participants also discussed how modern LLMs perform differently depending on the maturity of enterprise interfaces and APIs, with widely adopted platforms and tools currently being more accessible for AI-assisted integrations than highly specialized or proprietary systems.
